  • When Ricky Gervais says "Well Ollie, that's another fine mess you've gotten me into" he is referencing 1930's comedian and film star Oliver Hardy's catchphrase, blaming his partner Stan Laurel for their current on-screen predicament.  The gang met the pair in The New Scooby-Doo Movies episode The Ghost of Bigfoot.

Quotes

Shaggy: Yeah, like dude. Was there supposed to be funny? I don't think it was funny!
Ricky Gervais: Cheers Shaggy. Yeah, but... Um. It wasn't meant to be funny, OK? It's a cry for help.
Velma: Most comedy is Mr Gervais.

Fred: Strange old woman.
Daphne: Jar of ancient catnip.
Velma: Can you say suspicious?
Ricky Gervais: Can I say... of course I can. "Suspicious". Oh, I see you're doing a "Oh, it's one of your mystery things". Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, OK then, sorry, sorry. Go ahead. As you were, and...

Ricky Gervais: All you have your own little catchphrases, don't you? Like Daphne's got "Jeepers", Velma has "Jinkies", Shaggy "Zoinks", right. Even Fred says "Hold the phone".
Scooby: And?
Ricky Gervais: I mean, well my point is, you just say your name. You just go "Scooby-dooby-doo".

Fred: I told ya. You should have let me do the ropes.
Ricky Gervais I know Fred, but it's so hard for me to listen to a young guy who wears a cravat.
