Now You Sia, Now You Don't! is the eleventh episode of season 1 of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
Premise[]
At risk of falling under suspicion because of robberies committed by her ghostly doppelganger, famous musician Sia calls Daphne and her friends to help find the real culprit.
Synopsis[]
In Palm Springs, California, a jewelry store is attacked and robbed by a mysterious wigged monster. Being falsely blamed as the culprit due to having an identical hairstyle, Sia invites Mystery Inc. to her home to investigate the crimes and clear her name. Greeting the group at the door, Sia explains that she met Daphne at a kulning workshop in Sweden, where they herded cows using calls. Starting the investigation by viewing the security camera footage, it is revealed the thief resembles Sia, having her signature wig. Mystery Inc. splits up with Shaggy and Scooby participating in leisure activities in Sia's mansion while Velma, Fred, and Daphne investigate the crime.
Shaggy and Scooby eat a snack in the kitchen, where they adapt to Sia's vegan diet. They are then introduced to her personal "play room," featuring many attractions such as a spring-operated pie launcher that launches a pie at their faces. Sia then excuses herself for an errand, leaving Scooby and Shaggy alone. However, opening the pantry, they find Sia's monstrous doppelganger inside. The doppelganger chases the duo across the play room.
Meanwhile, Fred, Velma and Daphne, predict the doppelganger's next target location, a jewelry store called the Sparkle House. Having correctly predicted the thief's actions, they personally witness the doppelganger break into the store. Confronting the thief inside the store, they note the doppelganger's bizarre, acrobatic movements she performs as she steals the diamonds. She escapes their pursuit by pulling the fire alarm and activating the fire alarm and sprinklers, causing Fred, Daphne and Velma to slip and dousing them with water.
On the way back to the mansion, they encounter their first suspect, a businesswoman that had been selling jewels to each burgled jewelry stores. Returning to the mansion, they also meet Sia's personal trainer and chef, and they flag three potential suspects: Sia herself, as she is seen with wet hair, her housekeeper, who possesses bizarre acrobatic ability like the doppelganger, and her manager, who stands to gain from the publicity Sia's suspected crimes give her. As she speaks, Sia accidentally finds the stolen diamonds that had somehow appeared in her home.
The members of Mystery Inc. attempt to go to sleep for the night, but they are attacked by the doppelganger in their bedroom. They narrowly escape using a secret passageway and slide installed in the mansion, taking them to the recording studio. They also discover that Sia, feeling sympathy towards the robbed jewelry stores, purchased all diamonds within a certain radius to prevent the doppelganger from stealing them. Mystery Inc. seizes this opportunity to set a trap for the doppelganger. The group uses the suitcase of diamonds to lure the doppelganger around the leisure room. Eventually, the doppelganger is lured into a carousel, and Sia uses the operator panel to accelerate the carousel to dangerous speeds. The doppelganger is launched into the air and into a sign where she is captured.
The doppelganger turned out to be Sia's personal trainer and chef. Despite already serving two separate roles in the mansion, the trainer wanted to set up her own Pilates studio in Rome, so to fund her ambitions, she stole diamonds from jewelry stores all across Palm Springs, framing her boss, Sia, for the crime. Mystery Inc. also discovers that the trainer, a non-vegan, had been eating bacon in secret. For eating meat in her house, Sia deems her beyond the point of redemption and hands her over to authorities. After the investigation concludes, Sia, thanking Mystery Inc. for stopping a thief saving her reputation, makes pies for the group, though Scooby eats them all.

Cultural references[]
- The Doppelganger hanging from a chandelier in the party room is a reference to Sia's hit song "Chandelier", while the paper bag with a drawn face that Sia wore in some photoshoots can be seen inside the closet in the dressing room.
- It is mentioned that Daphne met Sia at a kulning workshop in Sweden. While it has different names in different regions of Scandinavia, kulning is indeed used by farmers to call cows down from their daytime grazing areas.
- The scene where the Doppelganger keeps disappearing every time Shaggy turns on the light is a reference to the 2016 horror film Lights Out, which focuses on a ghost who can only appear in the dark.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- The second time they are riding the bouncy balls, Sia's hair has its colors swapped.
- While in Sia's recording room, the gang are wearing their pajamas. However, Shaggy and Velma can briefly be seen in their regular clothes while Velma notes to Sia that the Doppelganger will come for the new diamonds.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- The nature of Sia's unusual hair is inconsistent. It is said to be a wig at first and there are many similar ones in the house, however, she has the same hair while swimming and Fred even remarks that she got it wet just as the Doppelganger got wet; a wig would have simply been taken off.
- When the Doppelganger severs the cables holding the lift it starts plummeting. However, it was mentioned earlier in the episode that the mansion was transported in its entirely from Australia. Australian lifts must, by law, have a mechanical (ie not electric) braking system that automatically turns on in case of such failures. Sia, however, had to manually engage an emergency brake.
- A sprinkler system would not be activated if the fire alarm was triggered.
- When unmasking the Doppelganger, pulling her wig off also removes her face paint and pointed teeth.
