Season three[]

Nicolai competed in the Russian hockey team in the Moscow Invitational Hockey Tournament. However, when the Frozen Fiend, the supposed ghost of an exiled hockey player, attacked the event, Nicolai accused American team captain Brett Hull of the crime to sabotage the event and avoid loss. For his aggressiveness, Mystery Inc. investigated him further, following him into a museum where he offered a flower to his ancestor, Tsar Nicholas II. Because the trophy was encrusted with the tsar's diamonds, Mystery Inc. then suspected Nicholas stole the diamonds to honour the tsar.
