Mysteries on the Disorient Express is the sixth episode of season 2 of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, and the thirty-sixth overall.
Premise[]
The gang goes on a three-day cross-country train trip, unravelling multiple mysteries.
Synopsis[]
Mystery Inc. boards a train for a three-day cross-country trip. However, because pets are not allowed in the passenger cars, Scooby is forced to disguise himself as Shaggy's mother to avoid being caged in the luggage car. As soon as they board, they hear two passengers reporting a Grim Reaper attack. The conductor, however, refuses to stop the train as it was transporting time-sensitive medical supplies. With this, Fred declares the start of a new investigation.
However, as Shaggy and Scooby eat in the dining car, they encounter a different monster, a mummy. When Mystery Inc. later searches the dining car, they find it destroyed, with a mummy wrapping left behind at the scene. Suddenly, they encounter a third monster, this time a Tengu in the next car over. Though Mystery Inc. pleads with the train conductor to stop the train, Dr. Messmer appears, explaining the train cannot stop because it is transporting a nostril for the first-ever nostril transplant. Mystery Inc. finds a passenger manifest for the train, but note there are more passengers on the train than are tickets sold.
While investigating the three monsters, the passengers are attacked by five additional monsters: Tarasque, Tzitzimitl, Haniver, the Manticore, and the Hemogoblin. After escaping the monsters, they are caught by the conductor, who does not believe there are eight different monsters terrorizing the train. He detains Mystery Inc. in the luggage car in animal carriers to be handed to authorities.
In the luggage cart, they realize that the eight different monsters all come from different places in the world. After finding a piece of paper, they determine what all eight monsters are looking for. They pick their locks to escape their animal carriers, then go to the computer terminal to plan a trap. As all eight monsters approach the luggage car, Mystery Inc. climbs onto the train roof luring the monsters, then crouch as they approach the mouth of a tunnel. The eight monsters hit the top of the tunnel and are knocked back into the coal-car. When the train arrives at its final destination, Dr. Messmer transports the nostril for the transplant.
The eight monsters each turned out to be international spies, each from the country their monster originates from. They were all pursuing a small computer chip that the conductor, who was really an undercover agent, hid in the train. The chip was originally hidden on a flower in the luggage cart, but Shaggy placed the flower on Scooby's hat as part of his "mother" disguise. Mystery Inc. leaves the train as police officers appear to arrest the eight spies.
