He is creepy and menacing. He made empty threats about having revenge for the cancellation of his TV show at KLMN. In the end, it was proven by the gang that he was innocent.

History[]

Early history[]

Mr. Grisby hosted a program on the TV station KLMN, but his show was eventually cancelled and he was fired from the station. He swore revenge against the station and claimed that he would bring the Wax Phantom, one of his creations from a nearby wax museum, to life to destroy the station.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You![]

Season two[]

After the attack on KLMN, Johnny Sands told the gang about Mr. Grisby - an eccentric former KLMN host - and his bizarre threat to destroy the station with his creation, the Wax Phantom. Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby interviewed Mr. Grisby at his home and found that he not only knew that the Wax Phantom had attacked the station through his crystal ball, but claimed to be directly responsible for the attack through his black magic. Based on his eccentric behavior, ghoulish home, and admission of guilt, he became a prime suspect. However, Grisby was ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing when the gang discovered that station manager Roger Stevens was masquerading as the phantom. Stevens intended to use the infamous threats against the station to frame Grisby and cover up his embezzlement operation and subsequent escape to South America.
