The monster had shaggy red fur, with black stripes along its arms It also sported claws on its hands and feet, two fangs, and small black eyes with yellow sclera.

It harbored a violent nature, shredding the wing of a plane, and lunged at Scooby, preparing to eat him.

Herman Ellinger unmasked
The Monster was first spotted by passengers on a flight it was trying to bring down by attacking the wing. Shaggy held onto Scooby's tail as he dangled outside, using a parachute to trap the beast. After safely landing, the monster was unmasked to reveal Herman Ellinger, who believed he would be able to fly wherever he pleased if he scared the passengers, forcing the airline to lower the cost of its tickets.

- The monster attempting to sabotage a plane is a reminiscent of the classic The Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet", which featured a similar premise; a gremlin attempting to sabotage a plane.
