The Miner Forty-Niner was the disguise of Hank.

Physical appearance[]

The prospector was an elderly man with a large gray beard and a black hat covering the top of his head. He wears a black vest over a long sleeve blue shirt, gray suspenders and black boots.

Personality[]

He seemed to be pretty mindless and spooky, attacking people on sight near the mines or at night, but turned out to be somewhat intelligent by setting up a trap to ambush the gang.

History[]

Scooby-Doo! Mini Mysteries[]

The gang encountered the prospector staggering outside of the mines of Gold City, letting out a creepy moan just before leaping towards the Mystery Machine, which led to them speeding off in fear.

Later the following night, he surprised attacked Daphne and Velma during their stay at Big Ben's saloon/ranch, and dropped a map after they ran back down a hallway. The map was used a lure to the mines and he ambushed the gang when they entered through, kidnapping Scooby in the process before he could escape down the mineshaft with the others.

Scooby ended up breaking free, but was grabbed by the back of the tail as the Miner tried to pull him away from the gang's cart during a rocket-like chase down the tracks.

Hank unmasked (Scooby-Doo! Mini Mysteries)

Hank unmasked.

The ride soon came to a stop when the 200 year old prospector's minecart flipped over and landed on him, popping off his hat and beard exposing his identity as Hank the caretaker. Who stole Big Ben's gold from the saloon and was trying to keep it stashed away in his secret cave hideout.
