Mean Blacksmith Smith was a blacksmith who ran a shop that was put out of business when the automobile was invented.

Personality[]
Very little was known about him, but he appeared to been jealous of the success of the automobile and planned to get even with it after his business closed down. However, he was completely foolish in trying to get in the way of the progress after finding out his great grandson Herbert, who works as a mechanic, is technically a modern day version of a blacksmith.
History[]
Early life[]
He once owned a shop centuries ago which later closed down after the success of the automobile. He soon swore he'll get even with it despite how long it will take.

Years later, his great grandson Herbert Smith opened a garage on the same plot of land where his shop used to be. Which ended up having bad business for a while do to someone stealing cars when they get left in the garage at night, with people coming up with rumors that Mean Blacksmith Smith's ghost was responsible.
He later showed up in spirit form behind the actual car thieves, that being Herbert's assistant Waldo and an unnamed accomplice, and rescued Shaggy and Scooby by knocking the crooks out with a horseshoe, then hands it over to the both of them. He tells them to mention that Herbert is continuing the family tradition, as he was foolish of getting in the process of his auto mechanic job, which is a modern version of being a blacksmith, and then disappears.
