She got the idea while in a pub in Transylvania, Pennyslvania, when she overheard a custodian telling the owner about how he saw the crazed behaviour of Dr. Basil Von Dinkenstein as he allegedly worked on bringing his own creation to life in his castle. She wrote the manuscript and took it to her editor/publisher who got it published right away. It soon appeared at a bookstore in Transylvania itself, where the custodian even worked outside of.
The popularity surrounding Frankenstein "haunted" the Von Dinkensteins for years, even when the name was changed to Dinkleys, driving Velma's strong desire to uncover the hoaxes of the world.[1]
