The Man-Bat was the disguise of the Joker.

Physical appearance[]

The Man-Bat is a large, bat-like monster roughly the size of a human, albeit slightly larger. It has all the facial features of a bat, including yellow eyes with no pupils, pointy, elongated ears, a small, black nose, a narrow face, and two large fangs on each jaw. It has a relatively-muscular upper body, having defined pectoral muscles and large wings. It is shirtless, but strangely is seen wearing a pair of light blue pants. It is seen either flying or standing on two legs, and its fingers are slender and bent.

Personality[]

The Man-Bat is a very hostile monster that favours physical combat. Relying on intimidation to deter others from his site of operations, the Man-Bat typically attacks by producing a loud screech and chasing its targets away by gliding. Possessing incredible combat abilities, the Man-Bat has not been shown at any point evading conflict, even when confronted by superhumans such as Batman. He also seems to show little regard for property or the traces he leaves behind, as his attacks often damaged or destroyed furniture as well as many scratch marks that were later used to identify him.

Powers and abilities[]

  • Flight: Using a hidden overhead pulley system above the building, the Joker is able to simulate flight as the Man-Bat. The bat is able to glide at a very fast speed, faster than human running speed, which allows it to chase its opponents while in the air.
  • Superhuman strength: The Man-Bat possessing extreme power in terms of both brute strength and combat techniques. His abilities rival even that of true superheroes such as Batman.
  • Claws: Man-Bat can extend his nails into a set of strong, sharp claws.

Season one[]

Man-Bat unmasked as the Joker

The Joker unmasked.

In order to rob the bank account of billionaire Bruce Wayne, the Joker disguised himself as Man-Bat and kidnapped his butler, Alfred Pennyworth, from his mansion. Bringing Pennyworth to the abandoned Miller & Frank Department Store, the Joker attempted to torture him into revealing the passwords, but the mall was searched by Mystery Inc. So, the Joker used the Man-Bat disguise to attempt to deter Mystery Inc. away from his site of operations. The Joker first attacked Mystery Inc. as the Man-Bat after Velma discovered his incriminating laptop. However, he was captured with the help of Batman and exposed for his crimes. (What a Night, for a Dark Knight!)
