The Maelstrom
The Maelstrom was the ship of pirate, Morgan Moonscar, and his crew. Parts of it eventually became a part of the house that plantationers built on Moonscar Island before Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree moved in after they killed them all.
History[]
Early history[]
At some point in the late 1700s, the Maelstrom sailed for an island where Moonscar and his crew could hide his treasure from prying eyes. However, once the Maelstrom reached the island, Moonscar and some of his crew went ashore, only to find that the island was inhabited by settlers who were celebrating their bountiful harvest. Not wanting witnesses to where he hid his treasure, Moonscar and his crew chased the settlers into the bayou to be devoured alive by the alligators that lived there. Unknown to Moonscar, two of the settlers, Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree, has escaped beforehand, and return as powerful and vicious Werecats to avenge their fallen comrades, killing Moonscar and his crew, absorbing their life force and turning them into zombies. The Maelstrom became abandoned and later was used by other settlers to the island, along with Simone and Lena, to build Moonscar Mansion using the wood from its hull.
Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island[]
The Maelstrom was soon discovered to have been built into Moonscar Mansion when Moonscar's ghost appears to carve a warning to Mystery Inc. into the kitchen wall, which is later revealed to contain the part of the hull that the nameplate of the Maelstrom was affixed to, thus leading the gang into discovering the history of Moonscar and his ship, especially once Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo encounter his zombie when it is brought to life from where his skeleton had been buried.
