Madelyn Dinkley is a student at the Whirlen Merlin's Academy of Magic, and the younger sister of Velma.

Physical appearance

Madelyn is a young teenaged girl. She looks similar to her big sister except she wears bigger, frameless glasses, with a purple tint; is a bit shorter; and has brown hair in bunches. Her outfit consists of a pink dress, a white long-sleeve button-up shirt, purple leggings, and pink formal shoes.

Personality

Madelyn is the opposite of her big sister, Madelyn seems more extroverted, while Velma is more introverted. She has a large crush on Shaggy and wants him to like her back. Velma and Madelyn love each other more than anything and are very protective of one another, but Velma can't stand Madelyn's tendency to make rash choices (such as Madelyn attending clown college for one semester and then choosing to go to magic school for another) and often rubs it in her face.

History

Early life

Her nickname in high school was "Doe Eyes Dinkley" according to Shaggy. Velma mentioned briefly that Madelyn had been in clown college for a semester.[1]

Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo

The gang visited her upon request by Mrs. Dinkley to check up on her at her magic school.[1]

Notes/trivia

  • Madelyn's interest in Shaggy may have been the basis for the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated version of her sister.
  • A running gag throughout Abracadabra-Doo, is that she tries to get Shaggy to notice her, which he eventually does towards the end of the movie.
  • Although appearing in a flashback in Frankencreepy, Madelyn doesn't appear in the Dinkley family tree in the opening sequence, and despite being the youngest, Velma is identified as the youngest in the Basil Von Dinkenstein's will. If she had questioned that (which she didn't), Cuthbert Crawley could've quite easily responded that it was made before Madelyn was born. (This may have been a given.) The fact that she wasn't mentioned is likely because (other than flat out being ignored) Cuthbert Crawls, the real identity of Crawley, was out to get Velma, not her sister.
