One of Gotham City's supervillains, the Catman, used the warehouse as a hideout during his scheme of getting ransom money for all the dogs he and his henchmen, sometimes in disguise, have kidnapped.
The rest of the gang, Gotham's heroes, and Catwoman (who was commiting a separate crime and not the dog one) later broke in to rescue Alfred, Daphne and Jenkins by using a device from Catwoman's jewel heist, and rescue them and the dogs.

- A MacGuffin is something that provides motiviation for the characters in a story, but in itself is not of any importance. A well known MacGuffin is the Maltese Falcon, from the book and movie of the same name.
