Liverwurst sandwich à la mode appears twice in season one. In one episode it is explicitly shown (Shaggy and Scooby-Doo have it as a snack), and in the other one it's simply mentioned in passing.

- Since Fred, Daphne or Velma wouldn't have ice cream on sandwiches, the third one would have to had been for either Shaggy or Scooby. It probably would've made more sense to have the the chef make three hamburgers and two sandwiches.
- After the gang gets the sandwich and leaves, the Malt Shop chef, very surprised with their order, says to himself, "Liverwurst and ice cream! What will they think of next?"
- When the Pirate skull asks for a password to get into a secret cave, Shaggy guesses "Yum yum yum, and a liverwurst à la mode!" It comically ends up being correct.
