Kevin Smith is an American actor, filmmaker, and public speaker, as well as, comic book writer, author, comedian/raconteur, and podcaster. He gained attention from his 1994 low-budget film, Clerks, which he also starred in as Silent Bob. The success of the film led to several loose sequels, including Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. From 2012–2018, he developed and starred in the AMC reality show Comic Book Men.

  • The character he plays in the film is modelled after him.
  • He's close friends with Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon co-star Jason Mewes, who's starred in most of the films directed by Smith.
  • He moderated the Rock and Roll Mystery panel at San Diego Comic-Con International 2015.
  • He dated What's New, Scooby-Doo? guest star Joey Lauren Adams.
  • At some point during the 90s, Smith was offered to write a Scooby-Doo movie but turned it down after longtime collaborator Scott Mosier declined to co-write the film.[1]
