Be Cool, Scooby-Doo![]

Season two[]

Mr. Kagawa, the owner of a kimono tailor shop, disguised himself as the Kaniaku to attack businessman Mr. Uehara for buying his family's seafood restaurant. The disguise was based on a monster from a children's story, in which a cook was turned into a crab monster for failing to cook a recipe after the recipe was stolen by bandits. Kagawa attacked Uehara's bathhouse as Kaniaku, hoping to place him out of business. After being attacked by the monster, the janitor immediately quit.

Mr. Kagawa unmasked.

Kaniaku attacked Shaggy and Scooby after they were kicked out of a seafood restaurant, and later destroyed a festival by attacking the parade. Police officer Hiroshi did not believe Mystery Inc.'s accounts and blamed Velma's friend, Aki, for destroying the festival, dishonouring her family. However, after being released from the police, Mystery Inc. set a trap for Kaniaku at the abandoned Kagawa Seafood Company. Though the initial trap failed, Mystery Inc. caught the monster by crushing it with a factory machine. Kagawa was unmasked, exposed for his crimes, and handed to Japanese authorities.
