This article is about the character from the What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode Gentlemen, Start Your Monsters! For other uses, see Jimmy (disambiguation).

Jimmy is a small boy and aspiring race car driver along with his sister, Cindy.

Physical appearance[]

Jimmy is a short, prepubescent boy with blond hair. He wears blue shorts, a blue undershirt under an orange collared shirt, and an orange and black baseball cap.

Personality[]

Jimmy is a confident child who claimed to know a lot about racing and race cars, crediting his father with teaching him about cars. He felt entitled to a chance to compete in a car race, believing he will win. However, though adults admired and entertained his ambitions, they did not believe in him as a racer, due to him being too young; Fred condescendingly mocked him, stating he could not reach the pedal, and he was ultimately barred from the race due to his age. Disrespected, he felt angry at the racing officials, and was willing to turn to crime to fulfill their ambitions. Despite this, they used dishonest means to gain an advantage in the race, controlling their car remotely and sabotaging other racers.

What's New, Scooby-Doo?[]

Season three[]

Jimmy and his sister, Cindy, attempted to enter the Gainesville 500, but were deemed too young to compete. Angry at the race officials, they created a plot to win the race by remote-controlling a race car, placing a crash test dummy disguised as their father in the driver's seat. While Jimmy controlled the car, Cindy controlled a second vehicle, a monster truck operated by a skeleton driver. The Skeleton Driver would sabotage competing racers by attacking them on the racetrack, often destroying their cars. They controlled both vehicles remotely from a radio tower, where the signal would be strong enough to reach the entire track.

Jimmy unmasked (Gentlemen, Start Your Monsters!)

Jimmy unmasked.

Mystery Inc. first met Jimmy and Cindy in the trailer park near the track. Mystery Inc. spotted their "father" inside their trailer, but they noted that he did not respond to their calls (as he was really a dummy). Jimmy and Cindy then planted a device in Fred's race car, allowing them to remote-control the car. In the race, Jimmy and Cindy hijacked Fred's car, forcing it to crash into a billboard and swerve uncontrollably. However, the other members of Mystery Inc. rescued him, as Shaggy entered the vehicle, found the device, and disabled it. Velma then modified the device to block radio signals, stopping both the Skeleton Driver and Jimmy's race car. Mystery Inc. spotted Jimmy and Cindy atop the radio tower and exposed them for their crimes.

Notes/trivia[]

  • Jimmy and Cindy have the same names as Jimmy Neutron and Cindy Vortex, the protagonists of the animated series The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
  • It is unknown exactly why he felt entitled to race at that moment, given that it is illegal for anyone to drive without a license (which one can get at age 16 [though one also needs a learner's permit, which they can acquire at age 15, and at least a year of driving experience with a licensed driver]). This is likely just a trait used to exemplify his impatience.
