- This article is about the tour guide from the Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! episode Trading Chases. For other uses, see Jeff (disambiguation).
Jeff was a museum tour guide before quitting and starting his own detective group.
Physical appearance[]
Jeff is a tall man with dark brown hair. He wore a dark blue suit with a white shirt and dark red and grey-striped tie. He also wore dark blue pants and brown shoes.
Personality[]
Jeff prided himself for his effective leadership, offering to temporarily lead the gang and show Fred how to more effectively lead them. Jeff knew he lacked the investigative skills and experience the other members had, so he trusted Velma's intellect to guide their investigations. He also catered to Shaggy and Scooby's gluttony and cowardice, allowing them to eat in the cafeteria. Jeff's leadership made the gang's investigations much more productive, as shown when they effectively learned evasive manoeuvre plans from Jeff that they could not learn from Fred.
However, Jeff unexpectedly revealed himself to be a extremly paranoid conspiracy theorist who made nonsensical theories about the crimes. After Salazar was exposed as the culprit, Jeff blamed the entire crime on his third grade teacher, using the evidence to support his outlandish theory. Velma said she misjudged Jeff, admitting that Jeff was a poor investigator.
History[]
Be Cool, Scooby-Doo![]
While giving four children a tour of the museum, he met the gang, explaining to them reported attacks of the Egyptian deity Sobek in the Egyptology exhibit. After challenging Fred's leadership, he offered to lead the gang in solving the crime while Fred led Jeff's tour. During the investigations, he mostly followed Velma's lead, knowing she her intellect could best guide the investigation. He later brought Shaggy and Scooby to the cafeteria so they could eat.
After Fred admitted that Jeff was a better leader than him, the two groups joined forces to capture the monster, as Jeff knew Fred was better at setting traps than he was. Using a trap, they successfully captured Sobek and exposed resident Egyptologist Professor Salazar as the culprit. Fred allowed Jeff to explain the case, but Jeff revealed an outlandish theory claiming Salazar was the disguise of his third-grade teacher, Mr. Peterson. Though Velma discredited Jeff's theory, Jeff later decided to quit being a tour guide and become a full-time detective, forming a group with the four children to investigate his own irracional conspiracy theories. Fred stopped him when he started driving away in the Mystery Machine.
