James was the butler of Lord Ebdon.

Physical appearance[]

James is a tall man, with large black hair. He wore a black tuxedo along with a gray dress shirt and black bowtie.

Personality[]

He seemed well respected and cared for his boss, despite not believing in the issues going about and assumes things. In reality, he was hiding his greedy interests in getting his hands on the Ebdon family treasure located somewhere in the mansion.

History[]

Scooby-Doo! Castle Capers[]

James first greeted Shaggy and Scooby, as the rest of the gang were already in the mansion, and shortly introduced them to Lord Ebdon, the owner, telling them that their van broke down and they needed to call someone to come fix it, but couldn't as the phone line was not working thanks to a bad storm.

He then mentioned about Ebdon's ghost problem, but didn't believe in it as he thinks he was just seeing things, before suddenly disappearing when more ghosts started showing up more frequently.

He was later revealed to be behind the hauntings of the mansion, with him being the larger ghost leader of a bunch of smaller ones. The whole scheme was to terrify Ebdon into selling the mansion so he could enough time to search for his late wife's family treasures, and even set clues around the place in hopes that the cook, Richard Roma, would take the blame. He was arrested for his crimes as the gang were given keys to the downstairs area to search for what Ebdon thought were just rumors.
