J.M. DeMatteis is an American screenwriter, comic book writer, and musician. He is known for his runs on Justice League of America, Justice League International, and The Amazing Spider-Man. He's also written episodes of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (starring Yuri Lowenthal) and Batman: The Brave and the Bold (starring Diedrich Bader), as well as the direct-to-video film Batman vs. Robin (featuring Grey DeLisle).
DeMatteis and Keith Giffen were given the job of turning Scooby Apocalypse into a fully realized comic, based on an idea by Jim Lee, with DeMatteis running the dialogue from Giffen's plots. After Giffen's departure after the thirty-first issue, DeMatteis has been given both jobs.
