- Iago pronounces his name as "Eye-ago" just as Igor in the movie Young Frankenstein (1974) insisted on pronouncing his name as "Eye-gor."
- Iago is a name popularized by William Shakespeare in Othello. Like his Shakespearean antecedent, Iago is good at pretending to be someone very unlike himself.
