Hugh Dederdee is an employee at Destroido and a victim of the Cicada Creature.
Physical appearance[]
Mr. Dederdee is a short, overweight, and middle-aged balding man with short, brown hair on the sides of his head and broad lips. While in the shower, he was completely naked, only temporarily donning a white towel around his waist to step out of the shower. When hospitalized, he had a white, short-sleeved hospital gown.
Personality[]
Given his involvement in Destroido Corp. and the marketing of Nature Slivers, Mr. Dederdee seems to have questionable morals. It is unclear whether or not he is aware Nature Slivers contained landfill waste, but if he was, it would make him morally bankrupt to market it to young consumers. After being attacked by the Cicada Creature, he became deeply traumatized and developed an immense fear of insects, which led to a cardiac arrest when he attempted to recount the events to investigators.
History[]
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]
Season one[]
Mr. Dederdee was an employee working for Destroido Corp., where he was responsible for marketing the snack food Nature Slivers to the public. However, he and two other employees fell victim to the Cicada Creature; he was initially threatened via phone call, being ordered to quit the company. When he refused, he was called a second time while he was in the shower. When he ignored the threats, he was attacked by a very large swarm of cicadas, who entered the shower via the drain.
Mr. Dederdee was hospitalized from the attack, and being the second reported victim of the Cicada Creature, he was interviewed by Mystery Inc. and accompanied by Grandma Moonbeam, the founder of Nature Slivers. His witness account gave valuable information to Mystery Inc.; as the previous victim was also an employee at Destroido, Mystery Inc. was able to deduce a connection between the monster and the company. However, being traumatized by the attack, Mr. Dederdee suffered a cardiac arrest while trying to recount the events, flatlining and prompting a Code Blue. It is unclear whether or not he survived the cardiac arrest.
