He was mostly wondering about the gang helping out in catching the monstrous crab haunting the island.

Scooby-Doo! World of Mystery[]
He showed up and found the gang by the beaches of the island. Asking them if they were gonna help catch the giant crab scaring away tourists and targeting his hotel, which Fred promises they are because he had a plan.
He later arrived to have a fruit feast with the gang, plus heard some facts he didn't know from Velma about the crustacean and thanked them for catching the crab. Which was Frunză, the director of the S.I.D.P.C trying to get rid of humans so crabs could take over the island.
