It is a brown statue of the hippo goddess Taweret.

Season one[]
Dr. Najib learned the diamond scarab was hidden in the hippo statue and required a special coin to unlock it. He posed as Ankha's mummy in order to steal the coin to unlock the statue. After he was caught and unmasked, the statue was opened and the scarab retrieved.
