Sally dressed up as the Haunted Hound to scare everyone away from the house so she could find the treasure she thought her uncle hid there.

The original hound was a companion of Neil Warnicke who died alongside him. Afterwards, there were rumors of scratching sounds coming from the attic and howling which the residents believed was the ghost of the hound. It was never confirmed if Sally was behind these occurrences or not. However, she at least did eventually decide to take advantage of the dog’s death for her own benefit by becoming its ghost herself.

To create the illusion, Sally rubbed powder over the eyes and teeth of the dog mask to make them glow and was depicted prowling around the house on all fours while wearing the costume. She also had access to a hidden passageway within the walls which made traveling around much quicker.

Sally was eventually caught in a net trap by the gang as she was chasing Shaggy and Scooby out from the hidden passageway. She was still in her dog costume and assuming her role as the Haunted Hound at the time, but was unmasked shortly after.
