Personality[]
According to the legend, it was supposedly protective of the people of Madagascar, but was incredibly hostile and chased anyone it sees, even quickly getting away from anyone that goes after them.
History[]
Scooby-Doo! World of Mystery[]
The Half-Spirit had apparently been seen roaming the royal palace in Ambohimanga, scaring away tourists from outside of Madagascar. It later attacked again during the gang's visit and caused a massive panic.
It first chased Fred and the girls, which they went into hiding with the first inspector they met earlier. Fred decides to try and catch the spirit after getting the idea from Daphne, but just as he lunged in, he phased right through the spirit as it went completely invisible, much to the others shock. It then went back to the palace and scared Shaggy and Scooby out after finding them in one of the rooms. It disappears again after they got out, but then attacked the gang yet again when they were planning on clue hunting in the surrounding area, Fred tried again to grab the ghost and crashes into Daphne, Shaggy gets put in a dizzy state, but Velma was able to grab him, only to tear off some beads from some type of skirt. Which revealed that the spirit was wearing special beads that blend in with the surroundings.
It returned one last time before the gang could plan a trap and caused everyone to spread out, following after Daphne, who trips over a log and falls into a mud puddle, but just before he could catch her, Scooby bumps into him as he was chasing after a small group of chickens when they just arrived, causing him to fall in as well. Before the spirit could get up, the chickens all jumped him, pecking and fluttering around him until almost his entire body was coded in harden mud and feathers.

The inspector unmasked.
The spirit was revealed to be the second inspector they met earlier that day, as his intentions were to scare away anyone outside of Madagascar to not going to Ambohimanga, as he believes that his people's old king doesn't allow strangers to the palace.
