HBO Max (or Home Box Office Max) was an American subscription video on demand streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery, a division of AT&T's WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc. It was launched on May 27, 2020.[1]
HBO Max was built around WarnerMedia's HBO premium TV service and included all of its programming, as well as a range of additional original programming and library content from all corners of WarnerMedia as well as third-party content providers.
On April 12, 2023, it was announced that Max replaced HBO Max on May 23, 2023 as a part of the merger between that service and Discovery+.[2]
