Cass Elliot's candy coated grapefruits
Grapefruit is a citrus hybrid (a cross between a sweet orange and pomelo), which commonly contains white and pink flesh, with a mostly yellow peel.

Cass Elliot repeatedly refuses to eat candy at the Sugar Plum Candy Company, and later food from a restaurant, as she says she's only eating grapefruit. This is implied to be part of a diet. It is later revealed however that she is eating the grapefruit topped with whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate syrup.
