History[]

Early history[]

According to its associated legend, the Golden Scroll was a recipe sent from the Spirit of the Sea to a cook to gain the affection of a princess. The cook began preparing the dish, but while he was cooking, bandits stole the scroll, and the cook could not remember the recipe's final ingredient. As a punishment for failing to prepare the dish perfectly, the Spirit of the Sea turned the cook into Kaniaku, a crab demon. The scroll was stashed in a disreputable inn for seven hundred years, though the inn eventually became repurposed into a fishery, the Kagawa Seafood Company.

Be Cool, Scooby-Doo![]

Season two[]

Seven hundred years after the legend supposedly took place, Fred accidentally found the scroll in the abandoned Kagawa Seafood Company.
