The Golden Ghost was the disguise of Alf.
Physical appearance[]
It's a white humanoid with a golden glow, hence the name, and the only facial feature it has is two black hollow eyes.
Personality[]
It was harmless and silent, but appeared to be helpful in guiding prospectors in finding gold.
History[]
Scooby-Doo (Marvel Comics)[]
The Golden Ghost appeared at a spot to meet a large group of prospectors, and show them the area where they could mine for gold. The gang was also there to witness the site, but the ghost magically disappeared out of site when the large crowd ran past.
The following night, it was revealed to be just a ruse made by Alf and an unnamed Assayer, to con the prospectors into thinking they were mining for gold after buying really expensive land, but in reality it was just Iron Pyrite, then they would split the money and leave the area. Alf went in disguise to scare away Shaggy and Scooby as the Assayer saw them snooping around, and later grew very confident that he could continue chasing them, but it soon led to him crashing into the Assayer for standing in his way outside of the office.
The two were later exposed for their crimes by the gang and taken to the authorities by the prospectors.
