The Ghost of Madds Markson was a puppet used by Teller.
Physical appearance[]
The Ghost of Madds Markson was a humanoid figure with long, black hair surrounded with a mysterious purple glow. Zombie-like, his face is emaciated, his eyebrows and lips are missing, and he has numerous black spots across his face. The rest of his body is similarly decomposed, with his fingers being thin and pointed. He wore a tattered suit, consisting of a white shirt, red bowtie, black vest and a blazer with significant tears along the sleeves. He also wore black pants and pointed shoes.
Personality[]
A hostile ghost, the ghost of Madds Markson chased his targets away, often moaning simple phrases such as "get out." Despite this, in contrast to his monster counterpart, the ghost does not favour prolonged chases, as almost immediately after appearing, he disappeared.
Skills and abilities[]
Being merely a puppet, the ghost of Madds Markson has few means of harming his victims, so he mostly relies on intimidation and shock factor to scare his victims away. He has special abilities that allow him to do this more effectively; he is capable of levitation as the puppet is suspended from the ceiling, he is somehow able to appear and disappear, and, through an unknown means, he is able to penetrate through walls and floors. Also, as shown when he terrorized the demolition boss, he is able to manipulate electrical devices such as lights and monitors.
History[]
Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?[]
Season one[]
Famous magician Teller wanted to impress his partner, Penn Jillette, so he decided to fabricate a haunting in the Savanna Hotel scheduled for demolition. He created a monster based on long-deceased celebrity magician Madds Markson, using a life-sized puppet to appear as his ghost. Using an overhead track system he installed throughout the hotel, Teller was able to simulate the puppet's levitation via strings. The ghost was first shown scaring Mystery Inc. out of the hotel's entrance hall, only to disappear immediately after they fled. Teller, who used this monster along with his Hugo Hauser and rabbit monster disguises, gained Penn's praise for his elaborate and well-planned illusion.
