History[]

Scooby Doo... Where Are You! (Charlton Comics)[]

On the day of the 100th anniversary of the infamous bank robbery of the James Jesse gang, the ghosts of the gang appeared and robbed the Tipton town bank, and rode off out of the area on their horses scaring away civilians with their guns, even nearly hitting the gang when they stopped by.

After some time checking around, the gang gotten information about James Jesse and his gang, noting that the ghosts were doing exactly what the real gang did 100 years ago, with the next place they were going to were the badlands to rob a stage coach that was heading to Tipton. Which was where the gang got the idea to try and capture them.

Fred and Shaggy dressed as two western versions of themselves and the Mystery Machine was disguised as a stagecoach, with the rest hidden in the van, and rode it to the badlands. As they got there the ghost gang ambushed them, with James demanding for the strongbox, which Shaggy drops over to them after nearly getting shot.

But just as James and the others looked inside, it turned out not be filled with money but instead a large toy snake that scared them so badly they dropped all their weapons and tried to run for it, but were held by (fake props) gunpoint by Shaggy, unmasked as fakes, and then taken to Eastville jail.
