The ghost of Ester Moonkiller was the disguise of Xander.
Physical appearance[]
Moonkiller's ghost was zombie-like, having pale blue skin and pure yellow eyes without pupils, and being emaciated with a bony face. She had a punk rock outfit consisting of a crop top, a belt, a necklace with a skull pendant and a black jacket along with black hair with red streaks on the top. She also wore a pair of tight black pants with purple high heels.
Personality[]
Moonkiller's ghost had a strong grudge against the Hex Girls and was happy when she found out they were cursed by the guitar. However, when her plan was ruined by the gang after Velma reversed the effects of her curse, she had a case of stage fright, which is the culprit's one true weakness. She speaks in a British accent with a brash voice.
Powers and abilities[]
- Hypnosis: Moonkiller's supposedly-cursed guitar had the ability to hypnotize those who played it, causing the victim to indiscriminately attack their surroundings. This is the result of a sound emitter inside the guitar which manipulated the victim's brainwaves. The initial psychotic state is temporary, but a second state begins where the victim regains consciousness but their personalities are altered. This state is permanent and can only be nullified by playing a sound wave that reverses its effects.
- Teleportation: With a puff of coloured smoke, the ghost is capable of appearing and disappearing. This ability is not explained.
- Levitation: While onstage, the ghost has been shown levitating a short distance above the ground. However, she has only been seen using this ability once and walked on the ground in all following appearances. This ability is not explained.

Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?[]
Season one[]
Xander, president of the Hex Girls fan club and former member of the band, disguised herself as the ghost of Ester Moonkiller to sabotage the band. The disguise was based on the late rock musician Ester Moonkiller, who cursed her guitar on her deathbed after failing to gain popularity. Xander mailed Moonkiller's guitar to the Hex Girls, designed to emit sound waves which altered the brain waves of those who played it. When band members Thorn and Luna were afflicted during the concert, the ghost of Ester Moonkiller appeared and declared the Hex Girls cursed. Thorn and Luna, affected by the curse, changed their music and clothing choices.
Xander unmasked.
The ghost of Ester Moonkiller appeared a second time to confront Mystery Inc. in a secret passageway in her house. However, later, when Velma successfully reversed the effects of the curse during a concert, the ghost of Ester Moonkiller appeared and attacked Mystery Inc. However, she became intimidated by the crowd and was captured by a trap prepared by Mystery Inc. Xander was unmasked, exposed for her crimes, and handed over to authorities.
