Season two[]
The ghost of Charles M. Thraber was the disguise of a caretaker working at Thraber Manor. The ghost was based on the mansion's deceased owner, treasure looter Charles M. Thraber, and the caretaker was in pursuit of his last remaining treasure, the golden ceiling of Francesi Palace. The caretaker used the disguise to scare others away from the mansion while he located and extracted the ceiling. The ghost was first seen attacking a door-to-door salesman. He then attacked Mystery Inc. and internet personality Liza Koshy when they entered the mansion.

The caretaker unmasked.
The ghost later attacked Shaggy and Scooby a second time while they were filming a video segment in the kitchen. However, he then fell into a trap prepared by Mystery Inc. when Shaggy, Scooby, and Koshy posed as demolition workers preparing to destroy the mansion. When the ghost fell into the trap's designated location, Fred used a jackhammer on the mansion, causing the ceiling's plaster layer to collapse and reveal the golden ceiling underneath, trapping the ghost under a pile of rubble. The caretaker was unmasked, exposed for his crimes, and subsequently handed over to authorities for his crimes.
