Season two[]

The ghost of Amos Littlefield was the disguise of artist Violet Oberon, who wanted to sabotage mayoral candidates to ensure incumbent mayor Perry Putnam's re-election. The disguise was based on the town's founder and namesake, Amos Littlefield. The ghost first attacked candidate Joe McGrath, who promptly withdrew from the mayoral race.

When Velma replaced McGrath as Putnam's primary opponent, the ghost attacked her at her first speech. Velma lost public support for cowering to the monster instead of confronting it as she promised in her speech. Later, Velma hosted a pancake social in an attempt to regain public support. However, she relied on the ghost appearing so she could confront it. Oberon decided not to attack as the ghost, so Velma humiliated herself as she did not have a speech prepared.

Finally, the ghost attacked a public debate between Velma and Mayor Putnam, though Putnam already left the debate at the time. However, Velma held up a carrot, which caused the ghost's horse to buck the ghost off. The ghost flew off the horse into a net onstage, where it was unmasked for the public to see. Oberon was exposed for her crimes and handed to authorities for her crimes.
