History[]
Scooby-Doo Readers[]
The divers legend was told to the gang by Mike Manatee, the aquarium manager, and Barry Barracuda, his assistant, that the diver was actual a pirate who was aimlessly looking for its long lost buried treasure.
The diver later made his actual appearance attacking the gang after they were left alone to clean up the tanks, and chased them for a bit until they lost sight of him while in a cave.
He shows up again and tickles Scooby into making him laugh, also fooling him into thinking it was the one octopus that did the same thing to him earlier. After being noticed, another chase ensues until they lost him again after escaping through a yellow sub, where they discovered he was stealing gold coins and found a map of all the tanks in the Coolsville Aquarium.
A successful trap was placed, where Shaggy and Scooby attracted his attention riding on a raft in the middle of a whirlpool tank, with a large net underneath. He ended up getting swept into the net and pulled up to the steal, completely tangled up.

Barry unmasked.
They lowered him down from the trapped net, and reveal the coin thief to be Mike Manatee's assistant, Barry Barracuda.
