Bitter over the slew of requests to buy his amusement park, due to the Phantom driving him towards foreclosure, he was quick to perk up when Mystery Inc. agreed to investigate, going so far as to cheerfully offer his services as a mechanic.

Mr. Globs and his wife had to close down their park because of the Fun Park Phantom scaring away all their customers. When Mystery Inc. knocks on his door asking for help with the Mystery Machine, he mistakes them for people trying to get him to sell the park. Inside, he apologizes for how he reacted and informs the gang about the hauntings, and once they offer to help, he offers to fix the Mystery Machine in exchange for them solving the mystery.

During the various case endings George witnesses the person behind the Fun Park Phantom being unmasked while the gang explain why they did it.
After the gang solves the case, he fixes their van as promised.
