The Fox Monster was the disguise of Coach Roachner.
Physical appearance[]
The Fox Monster is a monster larger than a human and resembling a fox, hence its name. It is a beast with orange fur, a white underbelly with three orange curved streaks on its chest, and black fur. It is rather chubby in appearance with a flat-shaped head. It has black claws, paw pads, and sharp white teeth. It also has black eyes with shiny white details and a bushy tail with a black tip. It is shown to be able to walk on only its hind legs or on all fours.
Personality[]
Contrary to how foxes behave in the wild, the Fox Monster is very predatory and brutish, chasing victims away and kidnapping one target of interest. It is known to cause substantial amounts of property damage, breaking through floors, upturning furniture, destroying events with ease, and showing little regard for the damage caused. It tends to scare its victims away with booming, lion-like roars and a toothy grin. Its ultimate goal is to locate a priceless sword, steal it, and scare others away from its operations.
Skills and abilities[]
- Burrowing: The Fox Monster is easily able to burrow through floors and break through walls. This allows it to make more sudden entrances, as well as escape traps when needed.
- Sword: For a brief moment, the Fox Monster wielded a sword, which it was able to use to some extent to terrorize its targets. However, the monster lacked swordsmanship skills and was defeated by Mark Hamill using a toy sword.

Season one[]
After hearing about a priceless sword lost to time, high school physical education teacher Coach Roachner attempted to locate the sword to sell but was stopped by his colleague, Mr. Berle, who wanted to donate the sword to a museum. So, Roachner created the Fox Monster disguise to abduct Berle and continue his searches. The Fox Monster was first seen attacking a school reunion event at a local restaurant, where he kidnapped Berle and destroyed the site. Cooperating with famous alumni Mark Hamill, Mystery Inc. investigated the Fox Monster after encountering the monster on the road. They encountered the monster again in a secret area hidden under the restaurant.
Coach Roachner unmasked.
Mystery Inc. later deduced the Fox Monster's motives, linking the crimes to a nearby Shinto shrine. They ended up finding the lost sword, concealed as a broomstick, and using the sword as bait to capture the monster. Though the initial trap failed, they successfully subdued the monster after Hamill challenged it to a sword fight, winning and causing the monster to run face-first into a bell. Roachner was subsequently exposed for his crimes as the Fox Monster and arrested.

The Fox Monster was one of the eight enemies that were unleashed from the Crystal Cove Spook Museum, it will attack any member of the gang by switching in-between lanes to fool the player while trying to avoid getting hit by any traps on the ground.
