- Swimming: The fish freaks were very capable swimmers, capable of swimming deep beneath the surface leaping out of the water onto land.
- Amphibians: The fish freaks were capable of living both on land and on water, not needing to resurface for air while swimming.
History[]
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]
Season one[]
The fish freaks were the disguises of a protest group led by Ernesto, who wanted to operate the drill of an abandoned oil rig near Dead Man's Point, so they could sell the oil to fund their various protests. They first learned of the oil rig after investigating the Destroido Corporation, which previously owned the rig. They found a report by Destroido's then-chief of geology, Spike Cavenaugh, indicating that the ocean bed was unstable and would cause a major oil spill if drilled. The fish freaks decided to use the drill anyway, abducting Cavenaugh and forcing him to prepare the drill for usage. They also abducted fisherman Skipper Shelton, forcing him to maintain the oil rig.

Ernesto and followers unmasked.
Dr. Cavenaugh's wife, Amy Cavenaugh, decided to request Mystery Inc. for help to investigate the fish freaks and her husband's abduction, disguising herself as a siren and leaving them an anonymous tip on their blog. Though the fish freaks then captured Mystery Inc., Amy rescued them and helped them capture the fish freaks, stopping the drill and preventing the oil spill in the process. Ernesto's group was unmasked, exposed for their crimes, and handed over to authorities.
