Hi-Tech Terror is the fifth and final level of the 2004 video game, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem.

Premise[]

The gang investigates at the ShermanTech headquarters.

Synopsis[]

Mystery Inc. is driving to Sherman-Tech Headquarters. Daphne states that the fact they know Sherman-Tech is behind everything however she wonders why. According to Velma’s research Sherman-Tech is using the land to build giant antennas; however, she still wonders what they're for. Fred says he called Sherman-Tech and arranged a tour of the faculties. Velma then explains while Daphne, Fred, and herself take the tour Shaggy and Scooby will sneak off and look for clues; the ones relating to the antennas. However, while she explains this Scooby and Shaggy are very clear they're interested in looking in the cafeteria for clues.

In Sherman-Tech Headquarters, a scientist welcomes. Daphne asks if their ability to meet with Mr. Sherman to which he says Sherman is busy. Suddenly, Travis Sherman walks up to the gang and says he’s not that busy. Sherman introduces Selena Drake who tells them they're working on some exciting new technology and wonders if they want to see it and the gang says yes to this offer. Sherman starts the tour and begins walking away and Daphne quickly tells Scooby and Shaggy to find clues before walking off with the others.

Scooby and Shaggy are in the cafeteria. They sneak past some guards to disable the camera system. Scooby and Shaggy sneak onto an elevator and they both seem very scared as it takes them down. Selena Drake is on the phone most likely to a security guard before hanging up. She then declares that Scooby and Shaggy are bringing the Tome of Doom to her. Daphne, Velma, and Fred are in a hypnotic trance.

Scooby and Shaggy walk into some kind of computer room; however, the door shuts behind them, locking them in. Scooby and Shaggy close a force field by pushing a button locked under a glass case which will only open if the right combination is put in. They find a blue keycard in a room guarded by a hazmat scientist and use it on a computer to remove force fields. Throughout the level, Scooby and Shaggy use teleport pads to teleport around. They find a red keycard in a locker. They control a robot, and after Scooby opens a door for it with the keycard, they use it to turn off all of the steam. They then enter a room with a security robot. After disabling some of the camera, they sneak into a room with a hazmat scientist and lure him into an empty room and close a force felid behind him. They then use the security robot to push out the disguise box from the remaining camera's range so they can use the teleporter without being noticed. In the next room, they defeat some zombies in order to progress. Scooby and Shaggy, wearing scientist disguise, walk up to one of the hazmat scientists, who’s currently furiously typing on a computer and tells them he needs to take a break and asks if they can cover for him. They agree and he gives them the yellow keycard; they tell him to take as much time as he needs. They use a robot to press a button in a room full of greenlighting to open a door, but as soon as the button is pressed, a hazmat scientist walks into the room. They quickly escape.

Shaggy and Scooby walk into a room and see the hypnotized Daphne, Velma, and Fred and they run towards them. Sherman, Selena, and a couple of scientists are also in the room. Sherman explains they're under their control. Selna explains it's because of her Mind Alter Alpha Wave Modulator. When Shaggy and Scooby don’t understand what that means, she simply explains it's a mind control device. Sherman tells them that antennas have been placed around the country so they can use them to make everyone buy their products. Sherman asks Selena to show Shaggy and Scooby a demonstration. Selena then uses the ray on Shaggy and Scooby, but they're immune to it due to their simple mind. Sherman orders the mind-controlled members of the gang to get rid of Shaggy and Scooby. Shaggy tells Scooby they better find a way to turn off that machine. Scooby and Shaggy use buttons to turn off the machine while avoiding Daphne, Velma, and Fred.

They successfully destroy the machine and the hypnotic trance is broken. Scooby and Shaggy run up to Daphne, Velma, and Fred and explains that they were mind-controlled by Sherman. Velma figures out their mind control antenna plan. Sherman orders his scientist to get them; however, to Sherman’s surprise, they refuse. The hazmat scientist unmasks himself and reveals himself to be Alan Dinsdale. Alan reveals he’s a special agent and this is his second job. Alan and a scientist begin arresting Sherman and Selena. Alan tells Sherman he’s under arrest for fraud, conspiracy, and book tempering. Velma explains that Alan was investigating the land appellation at Greenwood Development but couldn't get a solid lead so he let Mystery Inc. do it for him, keeping tabs on them the entire time, Alan confirms this. Alan apologies for leading them on, but Sherman was just too hard to touch without solid evidence. Sherman admits defeat and Selena calls Sherman a fool before kicking one of the scientists and escaping; however, the gang chase after her. Selena pulls out the last page from the Tome of Doom and summons a Fire Ghost. The door closes so that only Shaggy, Scooby, and Velma are in the room.

Shaggy and Scooby chase after Selena, capturing fire ghosts and zombies along the way, using fire sprinklers to dose the fire ghosts' flames to turn them into normal ghosts. Scooby and Shaggy join everyone outside. Velma wonders Selena is before Fred spots her on top of the roof. Sherman tries to convince Selena to stop but he fails. Selena explains that she planned to betray Travis and use the Mind Alter Alpha Wave Modulator to rule the world the whole time. Sherman comment on how insane Selena is. Selena pulls out the last page of the Tome of Doom and summons what according to her is the book’s most powerful monster, the King of Fire. Velma tells them to get the King of Fire’s attention while she tries to reverse the antenna's polarity making it rain. The King of Fire tries to attack Shaggy and Scooby, but they run away and notice a sprinkler valve.

Boss fight[]

Phase 1: The goal is to turn on all four sprinklers; however, they're shrouded by bushes. The King of Fire summons two Fire Ghosts, by throwing fireballs, and throwing fireballs at Shaggy and Scooby which can burn the bushes. Turning on the sprinklers damages the King of Fire. If a Fire Ghost is ever captured, he’ll summon a new one. Phase Transition: After all the sprinklers are turned on the King of Fire screams in pain. Velma messes with the wiring in one of the antennae, but suddenly it becomes electrified and it suddenly shoots out some kind of strange green beam, which causes lighting to strike it. It begins to rain and the King of Fire seemly evaporates. But suddenly repairs in new white robes.

Phase 2: The King of Fire now acts as a normal big ghost and all Scooby and Shaggy need to do is capture it using the Tome of Doom.

Ending[]

After Scooby and Shaggy capture the King of Fire, Selena becomes furious as she’s arrested by the FBI. Alan thanks both Shaggy and Scooby for their help. After hearing Shaggy and Scooby’s sob for what they had been through, Alan gives them a box of Scooby Snacks. When Daphne asks how he knew, Alan tells her he did his homework. Scooby uses the Tome of Doom to steal and eat the Scooby Snacks from Shaggy. The gang crack jokes about this before they all have a laugh as Scooby says his catchphrase.

In Sherman-Tech Headquarters the gang meets Travis Sherman. Daphne has some questions for Sherman and he tells her he’d love to but he has to go to a meeting soon but he’ll leave them in the capable hands of his chief scientific officer Selena Drake. Selena walks toward the group and Sherman tells the gang she’ll be giving the tour. Selena begins her tour Daphne quickly tells Scooby and Shaggy to find clues. Scooby and Shaggy explore the lab. They find a red key after sneaking past some guards and use it to unlock a room with a green key. In the room unlocked by the green key Scooby and Shaggy find an elevator and push a button to go down.

Selena Drake is on the phone most likely to a security guard before hanging up. She then declares that Scooby and Shaggy are bringing the Tome of Doom to her. Daphne, Velma, and Fred are in a hypnotic trance. Scooby and Shaggy find the Super Spooker 3000 which Scooby can use to scare enemies by shooting at them. In the same room, they find a yellow key which they use to unlock the yellow lock.

Shaggy and Scooby walk into a room and see the hypnotized Daphne, Velma, and Fred and they run towards them. Sherman and Selena are also in the room. Sherman explains their under their control. Selena explains it's because of her Mind Alter Alpha Wave Modulator. When Shaggy and Scooby don’t understand what that means she simply explains it's a device. Sherman tells them that antennas have been placed around the country so they can use them to make everyone but their products. Sherman asks Selna to show Shaggy and Scooby a demonstration. Shaggy and Scooby say it's unfair but they begin doing it since they're hungry.

They find a valve handle which they use to fix a valve and turn on the sprinklers. They find Fred who says he found a monorail nearby which they could maybe use to catch up to Selena Drake. Shaggy, Scooby, and Fred use the monorail. They get off the monorail and Scooby and Shaggy keep searching for Selena Drake. Everyone finds Selena Drake. Sherman tries to convince Selena to stop but he fails. Selena explains that she planned to betray Travis and use the Alter Alpha Wave Modulator to rule the world the whole time. Sherman comment on how insane Selena is. Selena summons what according to her is the book’s most powerful monster, the King of Fire. Fred tells Shaggy and Scooby to capture the King of Fire.

Boss fight[]

Shaggy and Scooby fix a valve and turn on the sprinklers. They lure him into the sprinkler’s stream of water, putting out their flames, and then capture the King of Fire while the flame is out. Then the King of Fire becomes two Phantom Shadows which the duo also captures using the Tome of Doom. They both become two small ghosts which the duo also captures and then two more Phantom Shadows are summoned who do the same thing when captured as the ones before.

Ending[]

Shaggy and Scooby defeated the King of Fire and with the monster sealed, Selena is arrested by Alan and curses Mystery Inc. for ruining her plans. Alan thanks both Shaggy and Scooby for their help. After hearing Shaggy and Scooby’s sob sorry Alan gives them a box of Scooby Snacks. When Daphne asks how he knew Alan tells her he did his homework. Scooby-Doo says his catchphrase.
