Falling Star Man! is the twenty second episode of season 2 of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? and the forty eighth overall.
Premise[]
The Mystery Machine is almost struck by an object falling from the sky. It appears that an alien spaceship has crashed in Terry Bradshaw's Louisiana ranch. The gang teams up with Terry to get to the bottom of the mystery of the alien who is now attacking them all. But should Terry rely on Shaggy's judgement so much?
Synopsis[]
The gang are driving through the hills of Louisiana. USA, in the sunset. Since it's 2 hours until they get to their destination, Daphne says it's good that they got Shaggy and Scooby entire barrels of crackers and boudin sausages. Unfortunately, they finish them right there and then, and make a big deal out of forgetting to share. Suddenly, a meteor comes right at the Mystery Machine. Driving, Fred dodges it and the van spins around and crashes into a tree. As soon as everything seems to have stopped, the meteor explodes in the distance and a shadowy figure walks out of the glowing red woods, to the fear of the gang.
The shadowy figure is revealed to be none other than Terry Bradshaw. They talk about how both parties saw a meteor crash, and apparently it landed in a field not far away. Terry suggests that they go check it out.
While walking, Daphne asks Terry what he's doing in rural Louisiana. It turns out that Terry owns the property they're on: it's his ranch. He has a lot of them but since he grew up where they are, it's his favorite. Just then, everyone sees a spaceship, which has created a giant crater in the ground. from when it plummeted there. Terry goes to take a closer look but Shaggy insists not to, as he says that this is usually where a really bad thing happens. Suddenly, the spaceship starts mysteriously beeping. Terry asks Shaggy and Scooby what to do as they seem to know a lot about the subject, and they jump out, just in tie as the spaceship explodes. After the commotion ends, a space alien appears out of nowhere and chases everybody. A mini Scooby-Dooby-Doors scene happens with some hay bales on Terry's ranch. Everyone hides behind a bale, loosing the alien. But as soon as they step out, the alien catches up with them again, and chases them to the Mystery Machine. They get in and make a smooth getaway.
They arrive at Terry Bradshaw's house and take a tour inside. While at the kitchen, Fred and Velma realize that the phone lines are dead and the Wi-Fi is down too. Terry playfully throws food and Shaggy and Scooby for the to catch and eat, but suddenly a paranormal investigator for a secret government agency busts through the back door. The paranormal investigator is there because he too saw the meteor crash down to Earth. He asks if anyone has a safe place to stay while the government sorts the alien stuff out, but Terry refuses to go anywhere. Terry even notes Shaggy and Scooby as two geniuses who can help him out if there's trouble, to the irritation of Velma. The paranormal investigator says that's fine with him and leaves.
Daphne notices a guy outside near the barn. Terry says that it's Jimmy, his ranch hand. They all try to shout his name and warn him since there is an alien on the loose, but h can't hear them and goes into the barn. They hear him ask what someone is doing in there, and the sounds of crashing and roaring and screams of terror can all be heard from the barn. The space alien bashes out of the barn and head to Terry's house.
The alien crashes into Terry's kitchen, where they are hiding. He roams around, looking for them. Terry texts his friends in the moment, not believing that there's a space alien in his kitchen. The space alien finds everyone, starting a Scooby Dooby Doors scene in a nearby hallway. Halfway through, they start dressing up as American footballers, fooling the space alien. Terry and Scooby commentate above on a balcony. After the alien chases them some more, Terry huddle everyone, including the monster together, and convinces him to go eat something else. He moves him out of the house and slams the door.
Velma says there's something not right about this mystery, as they are usually ruses so that someone can get something that they want. Shaggy suggests that it could be the championship rings on Terry's fingers; they are worth a fortune. The gang find out that Terry keeps all of his rings in his dresser! Even though thewy've found possible motive, Terry suggests that the alien might be after loads of other things, and shows them his hat collection, and his collection of old-came towels that haven't been washed for a while. But, Terry's favorite collection is his collection of little buildings which he calls 'Terry Town'. Fred, Daphne and Velma leave to set a trap for the alien, still believing that it's after the championship rings. Terry mentions that a building which looks like a stack of pancakes in his town actual;y serves pancakes in there, so they head down. The three have lots of fun at Terry Town in a little montage. A shadowy figure arrives, scaring them.
The shadowy figure turns out to be just Terry's pancake chef, angrily watching. Terry calls him his 'pancake cook' which angers him even more. He decides to quit his job and leave. Not caring about what has just happened, Terry decides to make pancakes with Shaggy and Scooby in the pancake building anyway. Terry tries throwing one to Scooby, but Shaggy intercepts it.
Meanwhile, Daphne, Fred and Velma have now got their trap ready. They've propped a net on the ceiling using a ladder and used a bowl of championship rings as bait. They wait for the alien to show up, but he doesn't for hours and hours. Back in Terry's Town, the alien finds Shaggy, Scooby and Terry and chases them around the place. After they lose him, Scooby spots a spaceship building. Terry calls him a genius, saying that they could use that for bait. Shaggy and Scooby stand outside the spaceship, hoping to get the alien to notice them. They pretend to marvel at the spaceship. The trap works because the alien chases them out. Terry throws a giant football-shaped house with a forklift truck to distract the alien, and Shaggy tips a lamp post over. Scooby rolls over to the alien on a giant donut, an jumps off right before it clashes with the alien. The creature gets stuck right in the middle of it. Daphne, Fred and Velma arrive since they heard the commotion, but not even Velma can explain what's going on. Thereofre, Shaggy tries. He suggests that the space alien is real and saw the giant donut while flying in his spaceship from outer space. Of course, that is not true and Terry unmasks the alien.
The space alien is revealed to be the paranormal investigator. Terry notices a tiny crack in the giant donut: he opens it and finds that the donut is full of cash. The paranormal investigator created the spaceship and space alien as a way to scare everyone away from Mr Bradshaw's ranch. He needed time to break into the giant donut building. About a hundred years ago, a famous donut magnate had an immense fortune in cash that no one ever found. He always said that the giant donut was worth millions, but everyone thought he meant the business itself. The paranormal investigator suspected that the money was actually hidden IN the building. And he was right. Terry Bradshaw, impressed by the work that went into the alien ruse, actually rewards the paranormal investigator with the cash!
Everyone, even the paranormal investigator, is eating pancakes in the pancake building. Terry throws a pancake to Shaggy but this time Scooby intercepts it! Scooby says the line "Interception Dooby Doo! Yummy!"
