Ernesto was the leader of a group of protesters at Darrow University,[1] and was an acquaintance of fellow 'comrade,' Daphne Blake.[1][2]
Physical appearance[]
Ernesto is a Hispanic man with black eyes and dark brown hair, mustache and goatee. He wears a green military style uniform with red accents on the shoulders and cuffs and he tucks his pants inside his knee high boots. He also wears a red beret.
Personality[]
Ernesto has been described an idealist revolutionary and describes himself as a grassroots activist. He regularly protests individuals, institutions, and corporations for the atrocities they commit against mankind and the environment. However, as Mystery Inc. has since learned, Ernesto's altruism was later revealed to be a facade as his protests have no particular direction or end goal; he seems to organize protests merely for the sake of being angry. As such, when he does not have an issue to protest over, he appears to create his own issues to be angry about, including things as frivolous as "old people smell."
One of the many ideologies Ernesto appears to support environmentalism, and his protest group targets the Destroido Corporation, a major polluter in Crystal Cove. However, his methods of protesting are not only criminal but completely antithetical to his end goal; he drilled for oil to fund his protests, aware that it would cause a major oil spill. According to him, he believes in "killing the environment to save it," implying that he uses an "ends justify the means" mentality to rationalize his actions.
He speaks in a Hispanic accent and refers to his fellow protesters as "comrades."
History[]
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]
Season one[]
Daphne joined Ernesto's protest group while she was touring the Blake Family Center for Self-Named Buildings at Darrow University. However, she soon found that Ernesto seemed to have no goal, simply choosing random issues to protest and stating his "true calling" would eventually come. He later protested against Professor H.P Hatecraft's denunciation of his monster, Char Gar Gothakon, where he advocated for the monster's rights. However, when the monster showed up, he quickly ended the protest and retreated.[1]
As one of his many issues, Ernesto began protesting against the Destroido Corporation, a major polluter in Crystal Cove. While researching the company, he discovered that the company had abandoned an oil rig in Dead Man's Point, which was not allowed to be drilled as it would cause a major oil spill. So, Ernesto decided to use the oil drill and sell the oil to fund his protests. He and his group disguised themselves as fish freaks in order to use the drill. As the fish freaks, they scared people away from the site, and also abducted people who sailed into Dead Man's Point, forcing them to help operate the drill. He kidnapped Dr. Spike Cavenaugh, the scientist who warned Destroido about the drill.

Ernesto unmasked.
Ernesto was seen at a Destroido press conference, where he protested their latest product. Later, when Mystery Inc. sailed to the oil platform, Ernesto kidnapped them and started the drill. However, Mystery Inc. managed to free themselves, stop the drill, and lured the fish freaks into a trap. Ernesto was unmasked along with his protest group, exposed for his crimes, and handed over to Sheriff Stone as they returned to Crystal Cove.[2]
Season two[]
He was in the prison cafeteria when Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo had to secretly deliver a Planispheric Disk piece to Fred Jones, Sr. He was then a victim of the attack of Krampus breaking in to get Mary Anne Gleardan.[3]
He was abducted by the Kriegstaffebots and was made to dig in the Crystal Cove caves to find the doorway to the Evil Entity.[4]
Post-Nibiru[]
After Mystery Inc. destroyed the Evil Entity and broke the curse haunting Crystal Cove, they created an entirely new timeline, erasing Ernesto's crimes as a fish freak from existence.[5]
