Their float was a poor entry, just a truck covered with seaweed. They never won, so they were accused of stealing the trophy with one of them playing the Coney Island Kelp. A member of the Oceanic Splendor team said she saw Ellie May loitering near the safe where the trophy was kept. Ellie and her brother were innocent; they were only guilty of trying.
