Dusty McSharp is a souvenir vendor, formerly a prospector who worked in a cave near Roswell, New Mexico.
Physical appearance[]
McSharp is an elderly Caucasian male with shoulder-length, scraggly gray hair and a thick goatee. He wears a brown hat and a beige shirt over a red sweater, as well as denim overalls and brown boots.
Personality[]
According to himself, McSharp had a reputation for being a crazy loner, working alone in a gold mine. When he first spoke with Mystery Inc., he had a grumpy demeanour, rambling about the aliens and tourists. His poor reputation allowed three criminals to frame him for their crimes. Despite this, he was cooperative with Mystery Inc. and provided them with valuable information. After he was revealed to be innocent from the crimes, he became less grumpy and friendlier, changing his career to a much more profitable one and casually socializing with Mystery Inc.
History[]
Early life[]
McSharp prospected for gold at an abandoned gold mine near Roswell, New Mexico. However, while digging, he unearthed an alien spacecraft and an alien emerged, being released into the outside world. The alien supposedly crashed into the earth during the Roswell Incident of 1949, in which an object crashed into the town; though the military reported it to be a weather balloon, conspiracy theorists claimed it was really an alien spacecraft.
Scooby-Doo (DC Comics)[]
Mystery Inc. investigated the gold mines after witnessing Roswell's city manager, Melvin Snug, being kidnapped by the alien. McSharp confronted them for intruding, but nevertheless allowed them to investigate the crime scene. Mystery Inc. discovered alien costumes near McSharp's living space, marking him as a primary suspect for the crime.
McSharp was later revealed to be innocent after Mystery Inc. instead incriminated Snug, as well as street vendors Flo Grange and Pueblo Biff Twobirds, for staging the alien attacks. They deduced that the three criminals framed Snug by planting the costumes near his living space. As all three perpetrators were arrested, McSharp took over Grange and Twobirds' vending booth, retiring from mining and finding a much more profitable career in selling souvenirs.
