What's New, Scooby-Doo?[]
Season three[]
The dragon was the disguise of Wu and his team of acrobats (except Wu's partner, Mei Ling) in order to steal the valuable Ling Ming Candy Ring from one of Harold Ling's toy stores. They first used it during a New Year's parade to steal the candy ring. However, while breaking through the candy display, Wu potentially exposed himself to Shaggy, as Wu was visible inside the dragon's mouth. To prevent Shaggy from potentially identifying him, he used the dragon to follow Mystery Inc. around Hong Kong, terrorizing them.

Wu is revealed as the culprit.
The dragon followed Shaggy to Ling's main location, bursting through the wall and leaving Shaggy on a high, unstable ceiling beam, though Mei Ling appeared and rescued Shaggy. So, during an attack at the World's Longest Escalator, the dragon abducted Mei Ling, keeping her tied and gagged in the back of the costume.

Acrobats revealed.
Fred prepared to capture the dragon by upgrading Shaggy's bathtub toy, Duck Guy, into a mechanized robot capable of fighting the dragon. During another parade, they encountered and fought each other, and though the dragon overpowered Duck Guy, Shaggy and Scooby accidentally launched a firework rocket with the dragon on it, launching the dragon into the air, bursting, and sending it falling back down to the ground, defeated. Mystery Inc. removed the disguise, exposed the acrobat group as the culprits, rescued Mei Ling, and handed Wu to Detective Kang.
