Kang is a Hong Kong police detective. He attempted to investigate the dragon that stole the Ling Ming Candy Ring.

Physical appearance[]

Kang is a plump, middle-aged Hong Kong man with black hair. He wears a black suit and black-and-blue striped tie over a white dress shirt, as well as black pants, a black belt with a gold buckle, and black shoes. He keeps a white handkerchief in his left breast pocket.

Personality[]

Kang is an opportunistic man who pursues justice by solving crimes, but only to boost his own reputation. According to him, he is known as an incompetent detective, being nicknamed "Caught in His Own Handcuffs" Kang and "Swallowed the Evidence" Kang, but seeks to improve his reputation by solving the case, proving he is competent. As such, when investigating the dragon, he rushed through crime scenes and was so focused on investigating the crime that he was irresponsible to those near him. He pushed Mystery Inc. aside and set a trap for the monster which accidentally captured them instead, and also forgot to release them before leaving the crime scene.

Season three[]

When a dragon from a New Year's parade stole the Ling Ming Candy Ring from a Ling Toy Company store, Kang attempted to investigate the crime, rushing through various crime scenes and encountering Mystery Inc. multiple times. He first saw Mystery Inc. at the store where the ring was stolen, then accidentally caught them in a trap he set at suspect Louie Hong Fa's warehouse. Finally, he witnessed the dragon near Victoria Peak, though the dragon fled just before he could capture it.

After Mystery Inc. caught the perpetrators behind the dragon, an acrobat group, Kang arrested the leader, Wu.
