Detective Chimp is an anthropomorphic chimpanzee and a member of two incarnations of the Mystery Analysts of Gotham City.[2]
Physical appearance[]
Chimp is an adult chimpanzee male, with brown fur, and is usually naked, except for wearing a floppy, brown deerstalker. In his photo at the first incarnation of Mystery Analysts' HQ, he wore a beige coat, a light beige shirt, and red tie, with a smaller deerstalker.
Personality[]
He formed a rivalry with Velma Dinkley.[1]

Early life[]

For his membership in the Mystery Analysts, his photo was framed on a wall with other members, including Sam Simeon, another monkey.[2]
Scooby-Doo! Team-Up[]
During the gang visist to the Mystery Analysts' headquarters, Ace the Bat-Hound showed Detective Chimp's photo to show Scooby-Doo that anybody could become a member.[2]

Detective Chimp & Martian Manhunter unmasked.
As part of Batman's initiation test for Mystery Inc., Martian Manhunter and Detective Chimp disguised themselves as the Ghost of Puppetto and Fredo the puppet to pull puppet related robberies. While confronting the gang at the old theatre, the gang captured the ghosts and unmasked them, revealing themselves as Martian Manhunter and Detective Chimp.
