The Demon was a hallucination brought up from some gas used by Njongo.
Physical appearance[]
The demon was a large red ball shaped ghost with a long tail attached to the crystal. It also has yellow sclera eyes, sharp teeth and wild looking hair that's a different color each time it shows up.
Personality[]
It appeared to be well aware of the victims personality or their traits whenever it appears in their vision, where it becomes a hungry ravenous brute when attacking the cowardly duo, or rude and selfish when scaring Daphne into messing up her hair.
History[]
Scooby-Doo! World of Mystery[]
The strange creature had made it's first "appearance" when Mr. Van der Groot and his team found the supposed diamond after Njongo the bomb technician blew up the wall that his it, but the group that got sent to grab the diamond all passed out from fright claiming they saw a demon, but there were no signs of it.
Later on the gang gotten involved when Van der Groot invited them, despite Njongo, the one who wasn't scared away, demanding he should call a witch doctor to get rid of the curse, but it soon led to three of the five members to go get it and end up hallucinating the demon, with Shaggy and Scooby seeing hungry monsters, and Daphne getting her hair messed up. Velma put on a gas mask to check while Van der Groot finally excepted to call a Witch Doctor to get rid of the threat.
The witch doctor arrived at the diamond mines, where it was then led to a separate room where most of the hallucinating happens, and promised to help get rid of it, but while in the middle of his speech, the demon hallucination frightened him too, and he turned out to be Njongo wearing a gas mask under the witch doctor one. Njongo had already stolen the diamond prior and the one sprouting the hallucinating gas was a fake one with cracks attached to a gas pump, the witch doctor disguise he used was meant to trick them into believing he helped.
