"Demented speaker" was a nickname used by Velma Dinkley for a tormenting voice that used antique radios to threaten and taunt Mystery Incorporated as they explored the long lost Darrow Mansion. It was eventually revealed to be the voice of Danny Darrow, who believed the original Mystery Incorporated had returned for his piece of the Planispheric Disk.

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]
Season one[]
When Mystery Incorporated gained entry to the buried Darrow Mansion, they were greeted by the voice of the Demented speaker on an antique radio. The voice briefly said it was a recording despite carrying on a conversation with the gang, but quickly gave up on the ruse. The Demented speaker claimed that the gang were really the original Mystery Incorporated returning to the mansion and said that traps were set throughout the mansion to prevent them from escaping or finding the mansion's hidden treasure. The voice next spoke when Fred and Daphne were locked into a death trap at the mansion's swimming pool, where it explained that at least one or both of them would die in the trap. The voice then spoke over a radio in the kitchen to Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby to reveal that they had been locked into a death trap that only one of them was capable of solving.
After escaping the traps, the gang found a control room for the radios and discovered that the voice was that of Danny Darrow, who had lived his entire life in the mansion since it collapsed into the ground 75 years before.
