Cyber Shaggy is one of the main characters of Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase. He is the video game counterpart of the real Shaggy Rogers created by Eric Staufer.

Physical appearance[]

Cyber Shaggy is modeled after Shaggy; a lanky man, with shaggy, dusty blond hair and a goatee. The main difference is that cyber Shaggy lacks a white sclera, and wears a red t-shirt, instead of green (red being the contrasting color of green), blue jeans instead of maroon, and the same black shoes as his real-life counterpart.

Personality[]

Cyber Shaggy is a hungry man who often uses the word "like" however, he is quite generous often sharing his food with others. He's commonly has a pretty nonchalant attitude when it comes to most things. Cyber Shaggy is notably a lot more relaxed when it comes to dealing with monsters compared to the real Shaggy not even too scared of a monster foreign to the game. However, just like the real Shaggy, he has a deep and caring relationship with his version of Scooby-Doo.

History[]

Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase[]

Cyber Shaggy and the rest of the cyber gang refused to beat level 10 since they enjoyed the city setting and didn't want to replay the game. They were hanging out in the malt shop when the real Mystery Inc. hid in the Malt Shop from the Phantom Virus, after meeting the real Shaggy he quickly shared some fries with him after the initial shock of meeting his double which were soon stolen both by the real and cyber Scoobys. When the Phantom Virus found the real gang at the malt shop they got into the cyber Mystery Machine and began driving to CyberLand so the real gang could grab the box of Scooby Snacks, located at the arcade, and beat the level.

However, once they arrived they encountered the Phantom Virus at a batting cage they tried to run but they were quickly cornered by the Jaguaro, Gator Ghoul, the Tar Monster, Old Iron Face, and the Creeper. They found out how real these monsters were when real and cyber Scoobys failed to pull off the Gator Ghoul's "mask." After this reveal they all ran past the Phantom Virus and into the park in pairs; cyber Shaggy paired up with her real-world counterpart as they were being chased by the Tar Monster. He soon lost them near a high striker however they quickly both showed up dressed as carny barkers advertising the game. Cyber Shaggy soon invited the "handsome" Tar Monster to play and to 'show him how easy it is" the real Shaggy slammed a hammer into his foot. While he was dealing with his injured foot they ran off but he soon followed them. Later both Shaggys ran into the Gator Ghoul while running from the Tar Monster saving both real and cyber Fred and both Scoobys, who upon seeing the Tar Monster ran away. Later cyber Shaggy was feeding the real Shaggy popcorn before getting some cotton candy from a cotton candy stand. He made the real Shaggy some before he tried to make some cotton candy for himself but he accidentally scooped tar from the Tar Monster, who snuck behind the stand. They ran off jumping into a soda stand before they both sprayed soda at the Tar Monster until he fell into the cotton candy machine. As a result of falling into the machine, he was now covered in cotton candy which the Shaggys considered eating before using some globs to cover the Tar Monster's eye.

At some point after dealing with the Tar Monsters and regrouping with almost everyone, the Shaggys are seen looking for the Scoobys before they find him and their respective Scooby lovingly tackle them. After the gangs fully reunite cyber Shaggy, and the rest of the cyber gang, glitch out when Shaggy pulls out the super magnet reminding the real gang of the Phantom Virus' weakness. They come up with a plan to stop the Phantom Virus but due to the plan's heavy use of the super magnet, they advise the cyber gang to stay behind. The level's monsters eventually return and the entire cyber gang, aside from cyber Scooby, are cornered by them. Luckily the real Mystery Inc. was able to beat the level causing the monsters to despawn. Cyber Shaggy tried to convince everyone to stay with food but the real gang rejected his idea, so he and the rest of the cyber gang, waved off the real gang as they returned to the real world. When Scooby-Doo booted up the game on Eric Staufer's laptop the entire cyber gang was there waving at them.[1]
